DescriptionAbout this Learning Opportunity

The Electrical Technician program trains individuals to acquire knowledge and skills to install, operate, maintain, and repair electric apparatus and systems such as residential, electric-power wiring; and DC and Air conditioning motors, controls, and electrical distribution panels. Instruction includes commercial and residential wiring, motor control and theory consistent with the National Electrical Code. Electrical safety including proper use of tools and equipment are stressed during the course. All safety classes are performed to standard according to OSHA’s rules and regulations. Instruction ranges from electrical theory to installation and repair of power apparatus, conductors, circuits, and various types of switching devices. Students will be able to interpret the National Electrical Code, apply Ohms law, use various measuring devices and develop skills to design and layout wire lighting circuits for residential and commercial projects. Related technical mathematics is also an important element in the curriculum. E
