DescriptionAbout this Learning Opportunity
The ALDC Apprenticeship course is designed to enable the student to work under appropriate supervision and to apply the knowledge gained in their core content courses in the clinical setting. The course will consist of weekly, seminar-style lecture and skill-rehearsal sessions, which will allow students to process their work experiences and acquire additional specific knowledge related to their assigned clinical duties. Additionally, apprentices will be supervised on-site by licensed clinical personnel, which will allow them to accrue the clinical hours required by the State for certification. Apprentices will carry a minimal client case-load and document their full range of clinical interventions and client responses. This documentation will be used to create a case-study, which is the final requirement for certification, and upon which their oral exam will be based.
