DescriptionAbout this Learning Opportunity
The purpose of this activity is to assist participants in job search by creating self-directed job search teams. Participants assist one another in the support team by dividing tasks, encouraging one another, providing feed-back on telephone manners and interview techniques, identifying potential employment, etc. Participants address common barriers to employment and develop job search and job maintenance skills with the aid of computers video, role-playing and other techniques utilized by instructor and Employment Specialist. Participants learn how to use the Internet to identify employment opportunities. Employment Specialist and participants have access to our own employer database, allowing for more targeted and effective direct mail and telemarketing efforts. And they will learn basic work maturity skills and work behavior. Through interaction, discussion, and role-playing, our participants will acquire and enhance character traits that are necessary for obtaining and maintaining employment. Participants will also be prepared to enter the Home Health and Certified Nurse Assistant Fields and work with the technology. They will learn the requirements of the health occupations, future labor demands and about the career path opportunities.
