DescriptionAbout this Learning Opportunity
This program is designed for the student massage practitioner to have a thorough knowledge of the requirements to practice therapeutic massage. To be a professional massage therapy practitioner, it is required for them to understand their duties. This program includes the required subjects to be a professional massage therapist: anatomy/physiology of the human body, knowledge of the effects of massage, techniques, applications of massage therapy, including assessment, planning, and performance. Indications, contraindications, risks and precautions for massage. Ethics and laws required to practice massage. Upon completion of this program, the students may receive a certification of completion and will be eligible to obtain a license in The State of New Jersey, approved by the New Jersey Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy. This program focuses their content for the students of massage for entry-level professional practice. Students completing this program of 625 hours of massage training required by the State of New Jersey will have a certification or diploma in massage therapy. This curriculum is designed to prepare students to qualify for the NCBTMB or the MBLEX.
