DescriptionAbout this Learning Opportunity

The Dental Radiology course consists of 31 ½ Didactic hours, 21 Laboratory Hours, and 2 ½ hours for the final exam. Upon completing the program, graduates will be prepared to complete the clinical portion of New Jersey’s licensing requirements for dental radiologists. Students must complete a clinical education component in a State-approved dental practice before the school can grant a Certificate of Completion. The clinical component can only begin after successful completion of the didactic and laboratory components of the Program and after successfully passing the final exam. Permission to complete the clinical component at a particular dental practice is subject to approval by both the school and the Bureau of X-Ray Compliance. Once complete, to become eligible for the license, the student must take and pass DANB’s RHS examination and then submit a license application to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. The student cannot engage in the practice of dental radiologic technology until they obtain a license from the State.
