DescriptionAbout this Learning Opportunity

The Electrical Trades Technology hybrid program utilizes distance education along with on-campus hands-on training to prepare students for their new career, giving you the flexibility required for today's busy lifestyles. This program is designed to provide students with adequate opportunity to acquire the knowledge of entry level electrician skills like understanding circuity, safety practices, and basic electrical theory. The program builds on that basic knowledge with hands on training in designing, wiring and trouble shooting systems like burglar alarms and motor control circuits commonly used in the home environment. Skills gained include reading blueprints, residential wiring, basic knowledge of electrical codes, telecommunications, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements. Upon completion, graduates will also be able to use their knowledge of electrical codes, apprenticeship (apprenticeship requirements vary by state and locality).
