DescriptionAbout this Learning Opportunity
The course length is 330 hours or 11 weeks. This is an online distance learning course which will require a minimal of 50-60 hours of in-school hands-on training for completion and certificate qualification. This course package includes the course in (1) Electrocardiography(EKG) (2) Phlebotomy as well as (3) Introduction To Computers (MS Office). The course package is intended to offer students basic and enhanced skills in the both administrative and medical office environment providing two additional job skill levels & enhances the proficiency level of both Electrocardiogram & Phlebotomy. It can lead to dual certifications in the national boards such as NHA's Certified Phlebotomy or Electrocardiogram Technician. It includes basic skills in patient preparation, lead placements, operation & standardization of the Burdick Models #EK/5 and #EK15A Electrocardiogram Machines, basic interpretation of a standard 12-Lead Electrocardiogram strip including Rate & Rhythm Computations & basic troubleshooting procedures. It includes advances concepts like Atrial, Sinus & Junctional Rhythms, AV Blocks. The Phlebotomy Component is a basic course with Advanced Venipuncture Techniques & Troubleshooting Methodology. It includes basic skills in patient prep, adult & pediatric methods, vacutainer single & multi-draw, butterfly and IV methods, techniques in collection protocols & quality control. It also includes advanced procedures such as Autolet, MicroHCT Glucometer & Hemoglobinometer.
