DescriptionAbout this Learning Opportunity
Per Scholas' Cybersecurity course is offered on a full-time basis for 17 weeks from 9-Spm. This course prepares students for careers in the growing field of cybersecurity. Students will learn how to build secure networks, and prevent, detect, and defend against cyber attacks. Students prepare for real world scenarios via an educational Security Operations Center (SOC) while also developing a broad base of skills related to operating systems (with special emphasis on UNIX/Linux systems); networking; troubleshooting from a security perspective; SQL; Apache web server configuration; web development fundamentals; penetration testing; malware, phishing and other security threats; prevention best practices and remediation solutions; and advanced tools such as bash and batch scripting, RegEx and searches. Graduates of this course are able to earn Cisco's new and in-demand Certified Network Associate CyberOps certification, and will have the knowledge and skills needed to fill entry- to mid-level roles as Cybersecurity Analysts, SOC Analysts, and Information Risk Management Associates. This course is philanthropically supported and is therefore offered at no cost to students.
