This course provides rigorous and systematic preparation for the Test of English as a Foreign Language examination while also developing students' reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. The Test of English as a Foreign Language exam is an important part of the college or graduate school application process for non-native speakers of English. Most colleges and universities establish minimum scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language for international applicants, and attainment of these scores establishes proof of students' ability to study academic subjects in English. These examinations are also recognized by many national and international employers -- including local hospitals --that seek to gauge the English language skills of prospective employees.
