DescriptionAbout this Learning Opportunity
This course presents the methodology of Kanban as a production methodology that applies visual scheduling to direct production activities. Participants will explore the ways Kanban can stabilize production operations; prevent expensive product shortages; how and where it fits in a value stream; and how it relates and integrates with other lean tools such as demand management, product families, standard work, FIFO lines, continuous flow, cellular manufacturing, and lean scheduling concepts. Participants also will gain an understanding of the design and functionality of a Kanban board and card system. Upon completion of this course participants will have learned various Kanban systems and their application in various manufacturing processes. The companys production processes and procedures will be used in the course to provide a practical application of the acquired knowledge.
