DescriptionAbout this Learning Opportunity
Certified Nursing Aide's (C.N.A.) work under the direction of physicians, RN's and LPN's to provide daily activities of living to patients or clients. A C.N.A. provides psychosocial needs, physical needs, spiritual needs, and recreational activities to individuals who are physically or mentally ill, injured (disabled or confined in bed, in wheelchairs, in nursing homes, hospitals and other various settings according to the need of the individual. The goal is lo help individuals regain or maintain daily functions. Classroom learning is taught in a simulated long-term care classroom setting and the clinical is instructed at a locally designated long-term care facility. To become New Jersey State certified as a C.N.A. the student must successfully complete required 90 hours course. 50 hours of classroom instruction and 40 hours of clinical instruction in a skilled laboratory or long-term care settings. Students must achieve grade C or better to take state certification examination. Student will obtain a CPR certification at the end of the program..
