DescriptionAbout this Learning Opportunity
Phlebotomy Technician program is to prepare students for employment in entry level position in doctor's office, outpatient clinics, nursing homes, hospital and blood banks centers. Students will develop skills necessary for successful employment in any capacity of this discipline. The phlebotomist is responsible for collecting, processing, properly label and selection of accurate specimen container for the specific test, provide point of care testing and quality control check. Currently the primary purpose of the phlebotomist is to obtain blood specimen by either by venipuncture (puncture of the vein) or dermal (puncture of the skin).
