DescriptionAbout this Learning Opportunity
General English is offered to all those who intend to study and become proficient in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English. This program is open to international students and residents alike who intend to develop and improve their communication (both verbal and written) skills using the English Language. General English Level 5 is for students who use English with relative ease and in a range of culturally appropriate ways but have yet to attain near native-like fluency and accuracy. Emphasis is placed on the proper understanding and use of idiomatic expressions, advanced vocabulary development, introduction to and refining of complex grammar structures, and learning how to converse, argue, and express opinions in a culturally acceptable way. Students also refine their writing and oral presentation skills. By the end of Level 5, students will have a strong command of the language and be able to communicate with near native-like fluency and accuracy and consideration for audience and context in most situations, with few errors.
