DescriptionAbout this Learning Opportunity

The Phlebotomy/Electrocardiogram technician program will provide skills training as a Phlebotomy Technician as well as Electrocardiography Technician. Combination of skills can be used to obtain employment in hospitals, physician offices and a number of health care settings. The program places emphasis on the safe practice of collecting adequate and correct blood specimens by capillary or venipuncture on adults, children and neonates. The second part of the program includes the correct and accurate obtaining of Electrocardiogram tracing of cardiac monitoring. The program consists of classroom, simulated laboratory setting and clinical externship. Upon completion--the students will render compassionate patient care to all patients and will perform as an integral member of the health care team with competence and confidence. Upon successful completion of this program, the student is eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Phlebotomy/Electrocardiogram Technician Certification Examination.
