DescriptionAbout this Learning Opportunity
This course is designed for the student who desires to update their skills to the latest gasoline/diesel engine electronic technologies. This course is also designed to assist students in obtaining Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in automotive area A8-Automotive Engine Performance. The course is a 50/50 mix of classroom instruction and shop service experience. All necessary equipment and tools are provided, as well as shop vehicles. Students can also perform service on their own vehicles. There is also a textbook utilized for classroom instruction sessions. Areas of Study Include: 4-stroke engine operation Engine mechanical testing Ignition system operation (conventional and distributor less) Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) 2nd generation on-board diagnostic systems (OBD-II) Multi meters Scan Tools Lab Scopes 4 and 5 gas emission analysis
