DescriptionAbout this Learning Opportunity
This is the first semester of a two (2) semester course. Basic Welding is the prerequisite for Intermediate welding offered in the spring semester. Students will learn welding safety, oxygen-acetylene safety and cutting, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (stick welding), introduction to MIG welding, and welding theory. Welding safety and theory will be covered in the classroom on designated nights as selected by the instructor. Students will become members of the American Welding Society. As members, the students will have the option to take the American Welding Society (AWS) SENSE tests which consist of written tests and can culminate in a welding test at the end of Intermediate Welding (the Spring semester course).
