This 16-week program will provide the student with an understanding of basic accounting, a mastery of Microsoft Office and an understanding of Medical Coding and Billing. By combining these three distinct disciplines the student completing the program will have the skills necessary to pursue a career in medical office management. Topics covered include; coding patients medical records correctly and optimize reimbursement for a full range of medical services, Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), International Classification of Diseases (ICD-9), insurance form preparation, Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Workers Compensation, No Fault, HMOs, diagnosis-related groups, peer review organizations and ambulatory patient groups. Additionally, as a registered member of the Microsoft Partner Program (ID# 2177301), ASI Career Institute is able to offer students expert instruction in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, along with accounting principles in conjunction with QuickBooks and Peachtree accounting software.
