DescriptionAbout this Learning Opportunity

The Medical Assistant diploma provides the graduate with a basic understanding of clinical procedures and practices along with other skills utilized in office administration, medical records management, and billing and coding. The focus of the program is the preparation of graduates to assist physicians in readying patients for examination and assist them as part of a team of healthcare providers. Graduates can utilize their skills from this program in a physician's office, hospital, outpatient clinic or HMO. This program was developed to offer the student both computer and clinical training that will provide them with strong skills to be successful in automated health offices. The medical framework of this course with the clinical framework enables graduates to work with the medical provider in both front and back offices of their facility. The student will also complete a 120 hour externship with this program.
