DescriptionAbout this Learning Opportunity

The Pharmacy Technician (PhT) program will provide students with the basic competencies needed for employment as a pharmacy technician in retail and hospital settings. The PhT program is taught using a hybrid/blended learning environment. Graduates will be capable of filling prescriptions, packing doses, compounding drugs, recognizing various drug names, performing inventory control, and keeping accurate records. Graduates will demonstrate behaviors consistent with professional standards and will meet employer expectations for an entry-level position. Upon satisfactory completion of the program graduates will be prepared to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam {PTCE) offered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). Pharmacy technicians in New Jersey are required to register with the State of New Jersey Board of Pharmacy. After completing the program and attempting the certification exam, graduates will be awarded a Pharmacy Technician Certificate.
