Job Readiness

The program prepares the participant to successfully attain and retain employment. Participants develop the work readiness, life/work maturity and social adjustment skills expected in the workplace environment. Participants learn positive and reliable work behaviors and attitudes, develop good interpersonal skills, develop and maintain a professional image and improve their job-related communication skills.
In addition, the program focuses on understanding the labor market and making appropriate career decisions. Participants develop the tools and skills needed to identify and apply for employment such as completing job applications, preparing an effective resume, networking and interviewing skills. Solutions to common barriers to employment (such as dressing for work, money/time and stress management, transportation, childcare issues, homelessness and dependency on public assistance systems) are also addressed. Participants are assisted in job search by becoming part of self-directed job search teams. Participants will utilize a diversity of tools and a technique made available by Workforce Advantages experienced Employment Specialists (ES).
